Hi All!

I have a couple of students that are just moving from MFPA book A to book B. They are extremely bright and I think they could use some supplemental materials. I was looking at some of the Play Time and PreTime books, but I can't look in them and I want something that's going to be a bit more challenging for them. Do you have suggestions? Thanks!

I am a big fan of Susan Paradis' website - you will likely find lots of songs there to help out!!

With my MFPA students, I use PreTime books starting about half way through MFPA B and add Primer level Gold Star Performance book with MFPA C and it has been working very well.

Although not a Faber piece, my students go absolutely "ga-ga" over "Cleaver the Beaver". It is one of the rote pieces Wendy Lynn Stevens wrote for the Piano Safari series (Google the website). Look under VIDEOS and then REMINDER VIDEOS.

Any student finishing Book A should have no problem learning this piece, and the hands get to travel all over the keyboard; a nice contrast to fixed positions and a great way to encourage freedom of movement and arm weight.

Of course, HINT HINT, I would love to see the Faber method explore this wonderful new way to reach students by giving them access to online videos to help them remember the rote pieces we teach them at lessons!
