All -

Although I am a teacher of beginner students I am also an advanced student (ABRSM level 7) who has been playing for years. Recently I switched to a more advanced teacher in an effort to go back to school for a Piano pedagogy degree. Prior to this I had been taught by a teacher who had previously specialized in the Organ.

The first thing she mentioned to me was that I had very weak fingers and that I "touch the key before I strike it" and suggested non-playing exercises (playing on key board lid, etc.). This has helped to some degree but I am still having trouble getting a strong sound and playing comfortably at speed. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks!
