By the JENGA game do you mean the one with small long rectangular blocks that starts out as one tower, then you pull out one block at a time and try to not let it fall over? I LOVE that game but have not used it in a music lesson. What do you write on the blocks, and does the student have to identify what the symbol/chord/etc. is when they pull it out? This interests me but I can't quite picture how it works. Many thanks!!

Yes, Joyful...

The music symbols, or whatever you like, is written on the bottom of the blocks. When they pull out a block they have to name the symbol correctly. Once they do they place the block they pulled out on the top of the tower so that the tower keeps getting higher and wobblier (side note: sorry, I have a bad problem of inventing my own words smile ). If they name the symbol incorrectly they have to go again.. they won't like this later on the in the game when the tower is really tall and wobbly.
