What is your favorite game to play with young students aged 4 and 1/2 to 5 years? I'm trying to think of some fun games to play at lessons! Thanks!

Do you mean in groups or one student at a time?

Under the Sea game from Mayron Cole - you create the questions based on what you are teaching at the time.

The Skittles game. I got the idea from someone on this board and will forever be remembered as the piano teacher with Skittles.

Make cards with questions & how far to move. You move your Skittle up the keyboard, first to the top wins. (If child wins, he gets all 5 colors, if I win I get the yellow and purple ones, child gets the other 3.) I have several groups of cards covering white key names for the little beginners, steps & skips, chords, signs & terminology etc. Great for learning & review, kids LOVE it, it takes about 5 minutes at the end of the lesson, and Skittles don't leave stickiness on the keys.

What a genius idea! I have a 5 year old who isn't very musically inclined... could you give me some suggestions for questions to ask? She is around the echo song in the primer lesson book. I'd greatly appreciate it!
