Hi Deborah,

I am in the process of studying for my ARTC with RCM and I am having a hard time with Harmony. I need to do Harmony V and Analysis and I have realized that I really don't understand much. I don't have a teacher currently. Although I passed my other Harmony exams with great grades, I realized that the teacher I had before, though she knew her stuff very well, didn't teach very well. I think she knew too well and it came easy for her. So now I find myself going back to understand, can you recommend a book(s) that I can use to help me clearly understand.

Thank you and sorry for the long message.

There are many good theory textbooks available.
"Harmony and Voice Leading" Aldwell & Schachter

"Total Harmony" , Stefan Kostka & Dorothy Payne, has a workbook and is used in many college classes.

Good luck!
