Hi,

I was wondering if some of you could post what some good brands of moderately priced pianos are. I have about worn the upright that we have out. We might (eventually) be able to get a good baby grand, so does anyone have good Baby-grand and upright piano brands that they would recommend?

Also, good keyboard brands. Is there anything better than a Roland? Do you know anything about Technics? Mine is a Roland, and it only has 76 keys, so I'm out of room on a couple of my pieces, plus I'm wearing it out too. I need something that can stand up to hours of practice before and during college.

Thanks!

Samick makes a very affordable baby grand. A student was given one for Christmas (imagine THAT under the tree) and the family had me over to play it for them. It hadn't been tuned since the move, but it had a nice tone and the touch was even. This student has only studied for less than a year, so with the parents making this investment, I'm hoping she'll continue!
